Balika Vadhu traces the life journey of Anandi and Jagdish, married in childhood. When they grow up, Jagdish falls in love with Gauri. Ganga on the other hand further studies to become a doctor by the help of Jagdish. Anandi daughter Nandini later gets kidnapped and eventually married to the kidnappers son, Kundan.

After being unnable from finding her daughter, Anandi decides to stay in India when her laws are about to move to Singapore. Because of her daughter was still in India and she wanted to find her, she moves back to Jagdish's house.

After 11 years Anandi's daughter who is known as Nimboli goes through the same as her mother went through years back. Anandi on the other hand becomes a karate teacher and teaches young girl karate for self-defence. Ganga becomes a doctor and Jagdish is taking the responsibility of Shivraj and Anandi and Jagdish are reunited. Ganga is later killed by her ex-husband and Mannu and Abhimanyu grows up as orphans with vague memory of his mother. Later, Mannu meets Jagdish and realizes the truth, but Abhimanyu blames Jagdish for his mothers death and kills him. Everyone dies of an alien attack in the end.
